Playing legendary US courses – Part I “The Landing” at Lake Oconee

From starting to imagine a travel throughout planing and bringing all the necessities together in order to have all set, it’s quite a way. I can be quite a nerd in pre-planing and pre-organizing a trip from choosing hotels to cars and restaurants. In Herbie I found the yang of this ying’s habit. He is #samesame and maybe even slightly better in investigating and picking out the obvious best. So I am very honored and a lucky girl in having someone who takes care of me like in my manner like I would do for him.

So thanks to this wonderful matter we parted for the south of Nord America. Herbie and me have been planing a trip to Georgia and South Carolina, playing some of the worlds best golf courses and awesome holes which you normally just see on TV at the PGA’s.

Talking already weeks before when even not month your heart is really set on fire the first time you swing your club for the first of four times 18 holes. It is a very special and for me as well sensitive feeling, when I step on a golf course for this particular moment I have waited so long. Enjoying not only the habit of golf and looking at the great surroundings, smelling the typical scents of the places it’s also the joy and happiness to share the next hours for the next 18 holes with my partner who recognize the same benefits as we are enjoying and is as much happy and delighted about this as I am. A perfect match. 🙂

First we landed in Atlanta City and had a night spent in the city ’s center where we had a delicious first glimpse into southern kitchen. Our first gumbo at Southern Kitchen was well prepared and filled us up for the first overnight stay in America’s South. Spending a night full of sleep we headed the next morning to Lake Oconee where we were set for tee off early afternoon at The Landing. As we drove towards our destination the surroundings changed from mid city life to a more wild life countryside escape. Big green trees and soft hills came upon our way and welcomed us at the lakes. Here we started to learn that we have chosen a region with a lot of swamps or actually as one swamp never ends it might be a big swamp just until very down towards Miami coast lines. Also we learned that there are a lot of big birds in the air which are not eagles. So many of them followed us on this trip. I never saw none.

Arrived at Lake Oconee we got ready to swing for the first time our clubs in US Georgia.

The Landing was an amazing scenery course on the edge of the shining and sparkling Lake Oconee that gave us the best picture of an american late summer day on a golf course.

We spent a terrific night at our suite and had a deep sleep with a morning wake up one’s can only wish for.
